About Dora, I can't believe that Baby Lasagna was backup entry. Who knows, among 203 submitted entries maybe we had more bangers like this one, but our "experts" rejected those. Again, we could have the same situation as last year. Quite inexperienced and unknown artist,already fan favourite with song with potential against Let 3, a grandmasters of PR and performance. And of course that Mrle is pranking us, that it's not true that they didn't submit. He will be doing this until Dora, probably. And I think only these two can win Dora, but Let 3 is more likely. But if Baby Lasagna win with really great performance and staging I would also be happy.
I hope Konstrakta is back. I don't think Let 3 will win, ESC fans are crazy about Baby Lasagna, the song is amazing….
Regarding MGP, Ingrid with Eya is definetly my favourite, style is similar to Nocturne, very original and unique.

Apparently in the bottom 50 (at 187) on the Global 200 on this past weeks chart (would have right around the 100-103 position if not for Christmas songs) is a cover of Tattoo in Brazil called "Daqui Pra Sempre" by Manu and Simone Mendes. It would be interesting if thsi could become at least a minor hit here in 2024.
Yeah, Eurovision season is getting exciting :). I've seen many fans complaining about MGP this year. I think it's maybe not the strongest nf indeed but in the end, you need just one good song and they have it! If Norway will send something that authentic and Norwegian as Ulveham, it would be beyond amazing. I really hope they won't go with that AI thing or Keiino which IMO sounds like a cheap 90s dance song from an unknown local band, sorry. Especially when they have such a quality gem as Gåte in the selection!
I love that the San Marino national final is a back-up plan for all the artists who didn't succeed in Sanremo (or weren't chosen) and now for Benidorm. San Marino in Eurovision is so wacky and I love the chaos that they bring to the contest every year!

My first impression of let 3’s song was that it’s very high pitched and sounds robotic which I was not a fan of but hearing that the song might be criticizing ai the robotic voice is actually kind of genius and makes sense now and is making me like it more. It would be interesting if let 3 and the ai song from Norway both go to Eurovision.

Those UMK hints are for the artists and not for the songs, though some of them could also hint about the songs. There has been a semi-beliveable "leak" made by someone given nickname "Yle-aunt", which may or may not be true. It suggests the artists are Cyan Kicks, Jesse Marklin, Mikael Gabriel & Nublu (from Estonia), Sara Siipola, Sexmane, Sini Sabotage and Windows65man & Henri Piispanen. So far all the hints have matched some of those artists though so atleats few of them might be correct.
For some reason, Austria missed many contests in the 70s and 80s. I don't know why that happened back in the time…
And it looks like Montenegro is going through the same pattern, but for financial problems.

How is Israel top 1 right now and still going up in odds i have not heard anything abount Israel so far so it is kinda strange they are already so high on the list
I think the social media people with Eurovision knows the fans like taking things at face value and freak out/be outraged before anything factual happens and were banking on that as a PR stunt for the RC thing.

For MGP, I love Miia's song it' a ballad that has a great appeal (and could do well in jury vote and not bad in public vote). And Let 3 return could be amazingly funny.

Dora has a pretty solid selection this year actually. I have only listened to all the songs a couple of times but just based on the studio tracks I have like 5 or maybe 6 already that I wouldn't mind winning. MGP was a little dissapointing to me but Gåte with Ulveham really stands out so looking forward to see how that is staged. My fingers are blue from having them crossed for Ireland to have at least one really good track to pull them into the final. Perhaps against better judgement but I really really hope they surprise us.

Having now watched Slimane's New Year's Eve performance, he needs to move his feet a bit more. He's waving his arms around dramatically, but his feet look glued to the floor. It's too static. Also, what is he wearing? It looks like a strange, short raincoat. I wouldn't wear that at Eurovision!

I do think Israel are being over estimated in the odds. Early in October just after they got attacked I thought there would be lots of Sympathy for them like what we saw with Ukraine in 2022 but I have not Seen any sympathy for Israel and a lot of Support for Palestine. I personally think both are in the wrong but I think Its highly Unlikely that Israel are in the wrong ae going to win even if they send a good song but I hope that regardless of any politics going on that the best song wins uncontroversially.

Something to look out for in the Irish NF is one of the songs has Irish in it, half Irish half English apparently, meaning if it gets to ESC it'll be the first Irish language entry since 1972 at ESC.
At first I didn't care much about the logo either but after I heard that 2024 is the year where sun activity reaches it's apex, I changed my mind. When there is lots of sun activity it also means that the area in with the Northern lights can be seen is much greater than usual. If I got that correctly even countries as far south as Greece or Türkiye can get a chance to view them in the sky. Needless to say I think that'll cover must of the participating countries in Eurovision. So Sweden putting the Northern lights in the logo in the year when the Northern lights have a chance to be seen by so many more people than just the Northern most countries is a really great decision imho.
